SIMPLE SKINCARE ROUTINE

I believe skincare is something you should take very seriously- I've always been pretty good about washing my face and removing my makeup, but since I've been getting older I've noticed changes in my skin that have required more attention than just a simple cleanse.

When I first started college, I noticed that I would get little breakouts all over my skin that weren't quite pimples, but still red and noticeable. Nothing I was doing was helping my skin clear up. After going to the dermatologist we figured out that these little breakouts were rosacea. Since then I've also realized that my skin is very sensitive and I can't use harsh acne treatments. After a lot of trial and error, I've finally found a routine that works for me and keeps my skin break-out free thanks to Simple Skincare!

I started off using the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water, but thought that if that worked so well maybe I should try adding in their other products to my routine! Slowly but surely I've found my favorites and a routine that is effective, easy to follow, and affordable! All of these products can be picked up at any local drugstore!

Aside from my main skincare routine I've found a few masks and treatments that I can still use on my sensitive skin! Some of my favorites are...

Keep Your Cool Skin Calming Gel Mask- I just recently picked this up, but I already have been loving it! I love all of the masks I've tried from Formula 10.0.6, but so far this one is my favorite! It goes on clear and it smells and feels super refreshing on your skin! After I use this I notice that my skin looks less red and feels softer! This mask is even gentle enough to sleep in, however I haven't tried that yet.

Biore Pore Strips- These have been a favorite of mine since middle school! I've always had pretty bad blackheads and pores, so when I notice they need a little TLC I pop one of these on and it's a great quick fix that gets them clean ASAP!

What are some of your staple skincare products?? Thanks for stopping by!

SUMMER {MAKE-UP} MUST HAVES

Now that the summer heat is in full swing it's time to step up my make-up products.  Just a few weeks ago I woke up to snow flurries and now the temps are staying steady at 80 degrees.  You can only imagine the havoc this can wreak for your skin. The heat and humidity can definitely change my skin from being very dry to now very oily.  I recently stopped at Macy's to find the perfect combo for my current skin condition.  I can't tell you how happy I am with the products I picked up.

Here's a run down:

1. Smashbox Photo Finish: I have to be honest I was a bit skeptical it could actually do what it says it can.  Such as "reduce fine lines, absorbs oil, matte finish...".  Let me be the first to say I'm now a full believer.  In the summer I get very shiny and oily and this stuff works wonders.  After the shower I still use my daily Aveeno Moisturizer  then I add the photo finish right on top.  I give it a few minutes to set before adding my foundation.  This is my new summer must have!!

2. Tarte setting powder: This stuff blew my expectations away.  I honestly thought I was a sucker at the makeup counter and getting talked into yet another powder that will end up in the back of my makeup drawer.  At first I didn't think it really did much until the day I forget to put it on.  This is now a must not forget finish to my make up application.

3. Bare Minerals Finisher Brush: I also have to give credit to this amazing brush for why I love the setting powder so much.  The brush is really the softest brush I've ever used.

4. Kate Spade Walk On Air Rollerball perfume: I wish you could smell through the computer because this perfume is my absolute favorite.  It has a perfect summer scent of every flower bottled up into one.  And the rollerball makes it easy to throw in my bag for quick re-applies during the day.

Last but not least...this necklace was a major MUST HAVE!!!  Nordstrom's has the best Kendra Scott assortment I just couldn't pass on this staple.  I've worn it with several outfits and I know it will be my go to summer accessory.

So there you have it...a few of our summer must haves.

Hope you enjoy!

BEST IN BEAUTY // BEAUTY BAG SPILL SAVE VS. SLPURGE

I'll admit it... I'm a beauty product hoarder. I love trying new products weather it's a new mascara or a new cleanser for my skin. I think good quality beauty products that actually work are available for any budget, however I also think that there are some products that are worth the splurge! Today I'm sharing some of my favorite "splurge" and "save" products that I love!

1. Foundation- Splurge
Foundation is something that I like to spend a little money on since I have pretty sensitive skin and I like to avoid things that will potentially clog my pores and break me out. I learned through going to the dermatologist that sticking to makeup that is mineral based is better for your skin since the makeup won't sink into your pores and cause breakouts. My favorite has been Bare minerals, specifcally the complexion rescue and the powder foundation, but I've been wanting to try the It Cosmetics CC cream

2. Powder- Splurge
My favorite powder is the IT Cosmetics bye bye pores powder. It's Translucent and doesn't make your makeup look cakey or powdery. I even like to wear this alone on days I'm not wearing makeup because it does a great job at keeping my skin shine-free!

3. Blush & Bronzer- Splurge
Noticing a trend? Like I mentioned earlier, I tend to spend a little money on the products that go on my face since my skin is so sensitive. Right now my favorites are Bare Minerals and Smashbox! I've been looking for some great drugstore options to test out, so leave suggestions below!

4. Eyeliner- Save
I can be picky about eyeliners since I want something that is pigmented as well as last all day. That being said, I've actually found some great options at the drugstore that actually work really well! Right now I'm using the Maybelline line stiletto eyeliner and so far I love it!

4. Mascara- Splurge/Save
I've found great mascaras at both price points! Right now I'm loving the Benefit roller lash as my go-to. I like my mascara to not clump up, last all day and give my lashes a lot of volume!

Thanks for stopping by, we would love to hear your beauty bag favs in the comments below!
